Time Box

Acrylic, Found Clock

This piece was created as my response to time as a suspended, untouchable, and unbreakable concept.

Astroturf and Dirt

Wood, Astroturf, Dirt

Throughout the years, Astroturf has become symbolic of a fake society in which even the grass is not real.  My project “Astroturf and Dirt” is intended to reflect upon the superficiality of our society through touch as a primary sense.

The dirt on the inside of the box represents the natural and often ugly that are hidden and suppressed by the Astroturf box.  The box is merely there for looks.

Alice in Wonderland Costume

Paper Products

This Caterpillar costume was created to be worn for a parade.  It was created entirely out of various paper products.  This included tissue paper, wrapping paper, construction paper, paper ribbon, napkins, newspaper, etc.  The caterpillar costume included a papier mache hookah and a large set of glasses to cater to the caterpillar's very poor eye sight.

Unfolding New Experiences

Paper, book board, book cloth

This book was created as a visual response to my visit to Hillel.  It reflects on the different stories and experiences that came out of this visit.  There are no words.  The outside is plain, offering a blank slate.  As you open the book, you unravel layer after layer of people and traditions.
